Dr. Kahlert is the Director at the Preclinical Research Department of the Clinic for Neurosurgery, Medical Faculty of Heinrich-Heine University, Duesseldorf, Germany, an Adjunct Professor of Beijing Neurosurgical Institute, Capital University Beijing, China and an investigator at the German Cancer Research Consortia (DI-DKTK). He holds a diploma and a PhD in biology from Albert-Ludwig’s University Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany. Supported by the German Cancer Aid, he was a Dr.-Mildred-Scheel scholar to receive postdoctoral training at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, MD, USA in the Laboratory of Charles G. Eberhart. Selected by the Schering Foundation he is a designated Young Leader in Science and an author of more than 30 papers in internationally regarded scientific research journals with a special focus on cancer and stem cells.
